Crawling Attempts

Fischer wants to crawl so bad...he gets very frustrated that he's not moving anywhere! Here's what he looks like when he attempts to get somewhere (click on the play button):

Don't most people have just one swirl of hair on the back of their heads? Looks like Fischer was double cow-licked!! (I think we have some crazy hair days ahead of us...the spot in the middle where the two swirls meet sticks straight up!)

A Week of Firsts

This has been a big week of "firsts" for Fischer. On Monday the very tip of his first tooth poked through! We don't think Fischer is too excited though...he's quite cranky about it. Also on Monday, Fischer went swimming for the first time. He absolutely loved it! The only thing he didn't like was getting water up his nose. The last "first" this week was that he started eating baby cereal before bed. He has been watching us eat for about 2 months now, and the past few nights has been waking up hungry at about 5:15 (he usually sleeps until 7:00). The very first spoonful went right into his mouth and was swallowed! He knew to open his mouth when the spoon was coming...and he didn't spit out much of it at all! He even got impatient when I took too long between a few bites. He's getting big so fast!

He LOVED the water!!
He liked to jump in head first after his toys (I held him, of course)!

First tastes of baby cereal!

Open wide!

Yum-Yum!!

5 months old!!!

As usual, I can't believe time has gone by so quickly. Fischer is still doing new things every day. He can almost sit up by himself (he has the strength, but not the balance), he easily grabs toys now, he knows his name, and he is trying to crawl (very unsuccessfully!). His crawling right now consists of pushing with his feet while laying on his face...the face scoot. Then he looks up at you as if to say, "Did I make it?" He gets really frustrated when he doesn't make it to his goal...but he's learning! Below you will see how his daddy is trying to teach him to play video games, how he likes to read books, and he got his first kiss from a girl in his Sunday School class named Annabelle (at Olive Garden - how romantic!)

This month was highlighted with a big trip to Texas...and Fischer's first flight! He did very well; no crying at all. We could see the looks on people's faces when we got on the plane with a baby, but by the end of the trip, they were all trying to play with him because he will smile at anyone! (he loves the ladies). Texas was a lot of fun...Fischer got to see all his relatives on Dustin's side of the family and some of our friends from college. Here are some pictures from the trip:
