The Cutest Pumpkin in the Patch!

Friday we took Fischer to the pumpkin patch at Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland. We let him choose his own pumpkin to take home and carve. It was a tough decision for him, but he found one he liked in the end (the last picture here, with the long stem). Afterwards, we took a walk by the lake and fed the ducks bread, then got a great picture of Fischer with a swan swimming by and the town in the background...of course, Fischer was more interested in his little pumpkin!

Bad Hair Day!

Thursday, I went to get Fischer up from his nap, and found him looking like this! It stayed the rest of the day too...I couldn't get it to lay down! I think he's puzzled as to why I'm taking his picture here.

Our Big Day At The Zoo!

On Friday (Oct. 10) we took Fischer to Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. We had a great time! Here are some of the pictures:

Fischer loved to look at the birds in the Aviary!

He did not like the Macaws...they were too shrill and loud! (this is the only thing he didn't like)

Daddy and Fischer are watching the Orangutans (one stayed under a blanket all day long...the other has a baby)

He was not afraid of the Llama at all!

We rode the Merry-Go-Round!

He loved the petting zoo!

Getting ready for a Safari!

Afternoon nap...but I still had to get his picture with the baby manatee!

Still sleeping, but the monkeys are cute!

When he woke up, he got to feed a giraffe! His whole hand went into the giraffe's mouth...Fischer loved it!

It was a hot day, so daddy let him play in the fountain (press play).

Look What I Can Do!!

Nana got Fischer this firetruck a week ago...we thought he would like to ride on it while we pushed him around. Fischer had other ideas:

He's been pulling up and furniture surfing for a few weeks, but this was a big suprise...we had no idea he could do this!

It's Official - He's a Chipmunk!

Last Tuesday, at Fischer's 9 month checkup (21 lbs, 14 oz, 29 in), the doctor told me to let Fischer eat whatever he wants that we're eating, except for the allergen causing foods (honey, milk, nuts). I told the doctor that he doesn't like chewing, thinking he just needs more time, but the dr. said "practice makes perfect." So I came home determined to get Fischer to eat finger foods. First, I finely chopped some nectarine, thinking this is soft and easy to chew. Fischer kept taking pieces from me as if he loved them. About 5 min. later, out popped a piece...a few min. later, another piece. I thought that was all, so I changed his diaper and took him into the kitchen for his dinner. When I went to feed him (it's been 15 minutes now), I found the rest of the pieces tucked in his cheek! He was sucking on them, but would not eat them! That evening, I tried some cooked carrots...just 2 pieces this time. He acted like he ate them, then ate his baby food like normal. 20 minutes later he and Dustin were playing when he fell and started crying...I found both pieces still in his mouth! He tucked them in his cheek to eat his baby food, and was laughing and babbling like normal during play! So I've determined that he is a chipmunk, not a baby :)

Playing with daddy after work!

He sits like a little boy to play now - always on his knees!

Lazy Saturday afternoons

Sunday lunch at Nana's house with Auntie Kala (and a cute puppy on his overalls)!

This is how he watches Baby Einstein - totally engrossed!

I'm cute and I know it!

9 months old!!!

I can't believe Fischer is 9 months old (Sunday)!! I am finally getting the videos posted that I promised. Several weeks ago Fischer got sick, then me, then Dustin, then my mom (who was helping us while we were sick)! It was the never-ending cold...each of us was sick for about a week, and with them overlapping, it felt like forever! I am grateful we made it this far without Fischer being sick...can you believe we made it 8 1/2 months without so much as a fever? He has 6 teeth now and loves to crawl, stand up, furniture surf, and climb. I'll get his height and weight on Tuesday at his checkup. For now, here are some videos and pictures from the past month:

Fischer liked jumping on the trampoline with Grandpa and Uncle Solomon in Texas.

Fischer's first try at picking up his puffs (This is Mrs. Edwards, Nana's friend).

The Great Escape!
Mommy's little monkey boy (always climbing).
Fischer's first fever (with tooth #4) :(

Papa put my name on my wagon with his wood burning tool!

Zeke, you're always in the way, but we love you :)

Finally Fischer will hold his own bottle! For months now he was able to, but just wouldn't do it! I still hold him in my lap at bottle time, but I had to get this picture...isn't he cute in his jammies?

Lots of Stuff

I'm a little behind with my blogging, so here are some pictures from the last few weeks. I will follow them soon with some more really cute videos!

Labor Day: Playing with Cousin Matt and his girlfriend Rich in Orlando (other cousins and family not pictured); hanging out with daddy at the lake behind the cousins' house.

August 21: Playing with our good friend Leo...he's 2 and he's the smartest kid we know! (not kidding!)

Following in daddy's footsteps!

Yummy teething biscuit! He had to go straight to the bath after this!

This is the wild peacock that lives in the nieghborhood where we walk...no one knows where it came from, it just showed up a few years ago and never left! Fischer also had his first experience in grass this day (for those of you up north, we have too many fireants to let him crawl on untreated grass...this is at a friend's house)

Pastor Danny and Mrs. Claudia, who have been in Uganda the past 3 years, came for a visit!

We went to Texas (just Fischer and me) for a long weekend in August. Here he's hanging out at Grandma's house!

Visiting with Grandpa Jack and later with Solomon while in Texas!
